What the House Offers

Small comforts that accumulate over days: a proper breakfast table, a library to use freely, a garden to walk through in the afternoon.

Sit-Down Breakfast

Breakfast is served at the dining table each morning — not left at the door, but set and attended. Nasi lemak on certain mornings; toast, eggs, and fruit on others.

Resident Library

A quiet room on the ground floor with shelves arranged over the years by the household. Malaysian history, English literature, some travel writing. Open to all staying guests.

Rear Court & Garden

Afternoon tea is laid in the rear court on weekdays. The rose garden is accessible to all guests throughout the day. The kitchen garden supplies herbs for the household kitchen.

Central Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Yap Ah Loy sits within walking distance of Masjid Jamek LRT, Petaling Street, and the Central Market. The neighbourhood is established, walkable, and unhurried by the standards of the city.

A Private Household

Mawar Residence is a private household, not a hotel. It takes a small number of guests at one time and maintains its own pace. There is no lobby, no concierge, and no noise after nine in the evening.

Housekeeping Included

Rooms are serviced daily for shorter stays. The Long-Stay Cottage includes weekly housekeeping and laundry. Guests with particular arrangements may discuss these at the time of enquiry.

Write to us about your stay

If one of the rooms suits your visit, or if you are uncertain which would work better, send an enquiry. We will write back with whatever information is useful and let you decide in your own time.

Questions About Staying Here

Meals beyond breakfast are not provided.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Are the rooms suitable for working remotely?
